Blogging is the newest craze on the internet. They can be used for many purposes yet the real reason for the blog is to communicate to the internet population. Marketers use the blogs to generate business, which is fine but to sell directly with the blogs is offensive to many people wanting to use the blogs for gaining information and not to purchase anything from anyone.
Many people read blogs without the intention of buying products or services. They go to the blogsite to read, and only read. It is frustrating to a person that enters the site to be later contacted by a salesperson. The person begins to wonder why they were contacted and how anyone got their information. In fact, once they figure out where the person got their information they will contact the blog host to complain about the uninvited sales contact. This is bad for the marketer since they have made a huge mistake with the contact and the blog host may ban their blogsite.
Blogs are bested used when they pertain to the information the internet user is seeking not as a sales tactic. Sure many marketers and businesses use blogs, but they need to be discreet with their sales methods. They should never spam or contact anyone without permission. Use the blogs to provide information only to create interest in the business and product is the true way to entice potential customers.
Use great content on the blog including videos and a comment area so the visitors can give their opinions. People love to express their viewpoints so provide them the options of giving their feedback to increase the attraction to your blog. When use this method with your blog, you also increase the search engine results and rankings due to the added relevant content.
If you are going to gather visitor information on the site, clearly state your intentions with disclaimers and notices. There are some people that will gladly provide you with their contact information. The real reason for your blog is to make the visitors interested so use factual information as the foundation of the blog. The contact information is further down the list of importance with the site.
Direct the blog content to a specific audience. The information, if for a product, should be relevant to the product that the visitor is possibly going to purchase. If you provide the right information you will attract them as a customer. Designing the content to the right audience then provides you with a larger customer base.
Add content about the developments in your industry. The rationale behind this is providing interesting information. An example of this is if there is a breakthrough in the industry that you are using then you let the audience know you have the latest technology or product, thus causing them to seek your business for the product.
